What are the finished surfaces of your home offices?
What desk surfaces do you offer?

We offer a range of surfaces for custom home office desks depending on need and budget. Laminates are popular, durable and the lowest cost option. Timber veneers, in a range of species and stains, are also popular and durable. Stone or “stone-looking” acrylic surfaces can be used for a more luxurious look, acrylic surfaces are very durable and impervious to pen and ink stains. We do not recommend polyurethane paint desk surfaces as they scratch over time and can’t be repaired, they must be replaced.

What type of drawer runners do you use?

You guessed it, it depends on the client's needs and budget. At the top-end we use a lot of Blum soft-close runners, ranging through to ball bearing runners and nylon runners. We use several brands depending on client preference, including Blum, Hettich, and Grass. Sometimes we use specialist runners for deep drawers or heavy load-bearing drawers.

What type of lighting do you offer?

We use LED lighting wherever we can; either LED channel-lighting (where a strip of LED lights is set into a channel we machine into a panel) or LED spotlights can be used.

Does Spaceworks have a minimum project size?

Yes we do, most projects we work on are over $10,000. In certain circumstances we will work on smaller projects.

What type of work don’t you do?

There are no hard rules here but generally we do not do repairs or re-fits to existing cabinetry made by other cabinetmakers.
